book is over yay

the one thing this book truly lacked over all else is description. it did not explain what any of the human characters looked at all and barely explained what the spiders in general looked like.
also it was to long for what it was. other than that it was a good book albeit confusing.

You know, I actually like it when there is not much description to go off on. It was just like in Cosmonaut Keep and the saurs- it left much of the descriptions up to your imagination. I think sometimes an auther can do a better job if he leaves some of the descriptions to the readers imaginations. I mean why waste time with frivolous details when you can just let your reader fill them in for you? Frankly, I think it can be a win-win situation. The writer doesn't end up screwing up his vision with a bad description and the reader doesn't have to struggle to put together a long list of details.

I agree with King Steven about this. I can't stand it when a story over describes things. The whole point of the medium is to let the reader imagine the events, instead having them forced on. When you spend whole chapters just describing things, you get Tolkien. And I have yet to meet the person who is so fan-boy/girl-ish
that they can honestly say that he was a good writer. A brilliant imaginer a creator, sure, but an awful writer to read.
